Configure Gupshup

MoEngage has a native integration for WhatsApp with Gupshup, which means that MoEngage can send messages and show Delivery, and Read Analytics. This integration allows businesses to send Templated WhatsApp messages via one or more senders powered by Gupshup.

Sender Configuration

To configure a Sender from Gupshup on MoEngage Dashboard, go to Settings->WhatsApp->Sender Configuration. Choose Gupshup from the left list menu and click on + Sender, and configure details.

      1. Sender Name (Mandatory)- The Sender Name is a name you want to provide to the Sender profile so that you can recognize this easily while using it to create a campaign inside MoEngage. The Sender Name should be between 5-50 characters.

      2. WhatsApp business number (Mandatory) - It is the phone number registered with WhatsApp (directly or via Gupshup) using which you want to send WhatsApp messages to your users. On Gupshup, you can find your WhatsApp Business Number on Profile (My Account)-> WhatsApp Number and copy it in MoEngage under WhatsApp Business Number.

      3. Username (Mandatory) -  Username for Gupshup Account (Notification account) under which your WhatsApp Business number is registered. A Gupshup username is generally a 10-digit number like 2000201234 (sample value).

      4. Password (Mandatory) - Password for Gupshup Account under which your WhatsApp Business number is registered. 

Please contact your Gupshup Account Manager or Gupshup Support for more details on your Username and Password.

Delivery Tracking

To track the delivery of your WhatsApp Messages inside MoEngage, you would need to copy MoEngage Delivery Tracking URL and share it with Gupshup to get it updated on Gupshup's side. You should be able to see the URL below:

Note:  This is just a sample URL. Copy the exact URL from your MoEngage Dashboard before you share it with the Gupshup support team.

You need to communicate the below details to the Gupshup support team:

      1. Callback URL - MoEngage delivery tracking URL as mentioned in your MoEngage dashboard

        Example: https://api-01.moengage.com/whatsapp/gupshup/dlr

      2. Method: POST [ JSONBODY ]
      3. Headers: {"Content-Type":"application/ json"}
 

You can validate if the MoEngage Delivery tracking URL is set on the Gupshup end by logging in to Gupshup WhatsApp Dashboard -> Profile (Your Account) -> Message Status DLR callback.

You should be able to see MoEngage Delivery Tracking URL in place of highlighted blue text in the above image.
